The enzyme papain breaks down proteins, fats and carbohydrates. It is found in pineapples, bananas, melon tree juice, kiwi fruits, mangoes, papaya, from where it got its name. They learned to get it from the fruits of papaya in a chemically pure form. Papain is able to process proteins in such a way that they become very easily digestible.
