Cafe Altura is created in Ojai, California, in collaboration with a family farm that grows and harvests organic coffee high in the mountains of Mexico. The company produces two varieties: classic organic coffee and decaffeinated varieties. The latter are processed according to one of the first technologies designed to remove caffeine from grains. It consists in the fact that the beans are soaked in the pure water of a mountain stream and subsequently, placed between activated carbon filters, are gradually heated up. Thanks to this, the filter absorbs caffeine, and the coffee aroma remains unchanged, 97% decaffeinated.
