Description
Vitamin B12, together with folic acid, controls the level of homocysteine in the blood, reducing the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. Vitamin B12 deficiency reduces the cognitive abilities and stamina of the body, and can lead to disturbances in the functioning of the nervous system. Folic acid and vitamin B12 are essential in the production of neurotransmitters, and low levels of the vitamin and folic acid can lead to poor production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter associated with mood control. Folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiency can be replenished by using vitamin complexes containing this vitamin.
