Brown seaweed, wild Atlantic seaweed, Kelp, Wild Atlantic Kombu
Brown seaweed, wild Atlantic seaweed is very rich in iodine . This trace element fights viruses by participating in the formation of phagocyte cells, and already these cells protect a person from diseases. A decrease in iodine consumption in the composition of food products adversely affects the state of the thyroid gland, on the work of which the body's resistance to malignant growth also depends. This correction is especially important for malnourished patients, since in an emaciated person, even without a malignant tumor, the concentration of thyroid hormones is reduced. Seaweed has a rather voluminous list of useful properties. In particular, they have an anti-carcinogenic property that allows them to remove heavy metal salts, radionuclides and other harmful substances from the human body. In this regard, seaweed is recommended by folk medicine as an effective prophylactic against leukemia and cancer. Recommendations for use
We recommend that you first check the algae for the absence of accidentally remaining small pebbles or shells. Some plants may be partially coated with a white powder of natural salts and sugars released during storage. This is absolutely normal, as are possible spots on the edges of more mature sheets. A few tips: in water, algae expands by about 40% and absorbs 5 times its weight. Raw kelp will be tough if not soaked or marinated. To fully soften, immerse in water for 15-20 minutes, pressure cook for 5 minutes, bake for 3-4 minutes at 150°C, or pan-fry for 4-5 minutes until crispy. Replace chicken or beef broth with kelp broth. Immerse 1 sheet in a liter of water for at least 10 minutes and remove as needed. No salt needed. Leave in the liquid for a richer broth, or take out, slice and add to soup or beans.
Kelp in salads: Enrich your salads with minerals. Soften the seaweed by soaking (1 hour) by marinating (1-24 hours), blanching, roasting, or frying (see basic cooking). Cut into small pieces and sprinkle over salad. seaweed as an appetizer or garnish: Tear, cut, or chop seaweed into small pieces and bake for 3-5 minutes at 150°C. Bake in a skillet over low heat until crisp or press down in a heavily oiled skillet over medium heat until crisp. Sprinkle with this crumble salads, cereals, pasta or eat it straight!
