Mastic Gum is obtained from the pistachio tree, which grows in the only place on the planet, in Greece. The ancient Greeks used mastic for medicinal purposes, as a remedy for stomach pain and to prevent diabetes. The resin of the mastic tree is distinguished by a light golden color and includes resin acids, essential oils and more than 80 other components. Mastic from the island of Chios has a strong antiseptic and antimicrobial property, has an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect. The use of mastic in cosmetics is widely known as an anti-aging agent that stimulates the natural production of collagen. Mastic products are also recommended for all people with incredibly dry skin that is affected by eczema. Mastic carefully heals wounds, cracks, can be used for burns of various origins.
